Seattle Overview

Seattle is the largest city and a major seaport in the state of Washington, and is the major cultural, economic, and educational center in the region. The Port of Seattle, the 8th largest in the US, is a major gateway for international trade and cruises to Alaska. The birthplace of rock legend Jimi Hendrix, and the musical genre of “grunge”, Seattle is rich with music culture and has recently become well known for its indie-rock artists. Known for mass coffee consumption, Seattle is also birthplace of major coffee corporations including Starbucks, Seattle’s Best Coffee, and Tully’s.
