Edmonton Overview

Edmonton is the capital of the Canadian province of Alberta, and is the province’s largest city. The majority of Edmonton’s population lives within the city, rather than the surrounding suburb areas, making Edmonton a cultural, governmental and educational center. It has earned the name “The Festival City” as a result of its year-round festivals, and boasts North America’s largest mall, “West Edmonton Mall”. Edmonton is also home to a series of unique urban escape areas, nicknamed “The Ribbon of Green”.
